Hi folks! The question is: Can i use a sata 6Gb/s hard drive, specifically ( Velocity Raptor 500G 6Gb 10000 RPM 64MB Cache) in a Sata 6Gb/s Port on a P9X79 PRO MOBO without any problems?

are you really asking if a SATA hard drive that runs at 6GB/sec will work when plugged into a SATA port that is capable of speeds of 6GB/sec?

No, he's talking about 6 Gb/s, not 6 GB/s.

I'm not one to personally attack someone, but this time I'll make an exception! With a name like yours, it seems like the pot is calling the kettle black.

AND you obviously have No sense of humor. spud.

Do you have the exact model number of the drive? I just want to check the specs to be able to tell you if there will be any benefit in doing that, or if a SATA2 connection will give you the same results.

hey i was seriously asking that because it could have been a typo in the question. but now i find out it wasn't and it is a absence of common sense on the OP part
