Is there a free program out there that will print my pictures with the file
name as part of the picture. Usually I shoot 30 pictures at a party,
then people want to order different pictures. It would be handy to print
all the pictures on a couple of pages with the corresponding file name in
the corner.

If some programmer with a brain bigger than this planet wrote a program to
do this and which would plug into PS then I'm sure they would make a pretty
penny.

For it to be really useful, it would need to be able to optionally
overlay EXIF data on the image too. And have a total of 42 features.
I could probably write this and my name isn't Marvin.
Nope. Too busy, and too lazy.
More important, is a program to catalog my porn collection (I went
digital years ago). It needs to create one index-jpeg for each MPG,
AVI etc made up of about 20 frames from across the movie, and put
stuff like filename, running time, file size across the top/bottom of
the index.

Well, it's free for 30 days, at least.
Photoshop, in the contact sheet II mode will add the file name if you so
choose.

Not free, but Qimage will easily do this and much more. Give the free demo
a try. http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage ________________________________________________________

Here is one option for printing pictures. This description is taken from the
above web site.
Quote:
MultiView Printing: First view your photos in any 2 to 25 image Multi View
template, then click Print. Options then appear to change top, bottom, left,
right, and gutter margins on the sheet. You can size each image to EXACT
sizes with many popular sizes available as presets (6" x 4", etc.) relative
to available space on the sheet. If you like, add a page title or add
captions to any or all images. Unquote:

The Browse view in Paint Shop Pro does this, and you can specify the
thumbnail size. It isn't a free program, but it is an excellent program for
image editing. The tryout is free. Download from www.jasc.com.

Not exactly in the corner of the picture as such, but WinXP does
index print with the file name under the pic.
