Hard disk drive wont spin - please help!

Hello guys,

I need your urgent help. My brother have got a problem with his hard drive few months ago when I was trying to help him out to recover the partition, but I discovered that the hard drive don't spin at all.

I am not really sure if the PCB or the spin motor is dead.

Can you please confirm why the hard drive don't spin, is it the PCB or the motor?

The resolution is a little low, but that does look like a scorch mark on the PCB. Of course it doesn't really matter if it's the PCB or the motor unless you have a replacement PCB to put in and test with. At this point you're probably looking at recovery services or bust to get this thing working again.
