Ok so I'll give you my specs and explain my problem

Intel i7 3770k
Asus p8z77-vpro
16 gb hyperx ram 1866 mhz
OCZ agility 4 256mb sata III
Asus Geforce gtx 680
crap old dvd drive

Ok so I noticed my ssd was not really impressing me that much so I ran atto and sure enough it lacks in read speeds on files bigger than 128k. When I compare them to the benchmark I found online with almost the exact same specs. Its avg is about 250mb/s on files larger than 128k which is significantly lower than it should be. I have the mobo in ahci mode and I have a sata 3 cable and its in a sata 3 port theres 2 versions of the port there. Theres an intel and an asmedia I'm using the intel one. So if anyone has experienced this problem or has an idea what could be causing it let me know. Heres the link to the benchmark I was going by http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/ocz-agility-4-256gb...

You are getting SATA 2 speeds.
Double-check that you are connected to port SATA6G_1 or SATA6G_2 (see page 2-2 of your motherboard manual).

Ok I changed the Connection from the intel SATA6G_1 to the asmedia SATA6G_e1 and its seems to have lowed the write speeds by about 20mb/s and the read speeds stayed about the same

The ASMedia 6Gb/s ports are slower than the Intel 6Gb/s ports. If you previously had it connected to SATA6G_1 then connect it to SATA6G_2 and test.

Tried that still no luck. I read your not suppose to fully format the drive just quick format. when I installed windows I clicked new to create the partition then I clicked Format to format it, is that considered a Full format.

That doesn't make any sense. How is your external HDD connected? eSATA? USB?

Yea that didnt do anything it worked better for 3 of the larger files and went back to 250mb/s. Its all over the place , it also only gets 7.5 for WEI should be a 7.9 pretty sure. I don't know if it could be a bad drive because it gets 400mb/s but its not consistent. This is starting to give me a head ache.
