DDR3 Ram, Core5i- 450M CPU

Hello,
Is there any real advantage of having 6Gs of DDR3 ram in lew of 4 Gs with a 5i 450M CPU in a notebook computer. Will 6Gs of ram drain the battery faster.

In most cases you won't notice any performance difference between 4GB and 6GB of RAM.
There are exceptions for some programs - like Photoshop. What will you be using the laptop for?

This is a different platform - desktop X-58 motherboard and Core i7 920 CPU. But the differences are similar in how different amounts of RAM affect performance.
It shows 3GB/6GB/12GB amounts of RAM.
