APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: The next 2-3 days.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:primarily gaming. Would like to play Crysis on Very High at around 30 FPS at least.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: I already have a 21.5" Samsung P2250 (1920x1080)

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: (e.g.: newegg.com, ncix.com -- to show us selection & pricing) COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: (e.g.: Grand Fenwick)

PARTS PREFERENCES: I would really like either a single 5870 or crossfire 5770s. Preferably room for a second card if decided on the 5870.

OVERCLOCKING: If there's a way to do it safely, why not. Not experienced.

SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Only required for 5770s. Would like 5870 to be Crossfire capable for the future. Which I guess would affect the PSU? Might be asking too much.

MONITOR RESOLUTION: Well I have my monitor set to 1920x1080 right now.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I've never built a PC before, it looks really confusing. If the price difference just comes down to $100 or something, I might buy one. But I'm hoping I can save maybe $200-300 or so out of this.

Also, I dont know how compatability with the parts works. If you leave me a build, does that mean that all the parts are going to be compatable with each other?

Also, how does the OS work? And drivers?

Thanks!

Here's a build from another thread I made earlier. Most of the builds posted here are perfectly compatible.

OS interfaces between software and hardware, and controls allocation of resources for software.
Drivers tell OS how to deal with specific hardware devices.

you could also do a 5850 based build with an OCZ Modxstream 700W 80+ for ~$987.

Just that 470 + PSU is a great deal ATM.
