Want to upgrade video card with out replacing PSU

I have an old Gateway Gt5672e and I'm trying to breathe some life into it. I grabbed Some RAM (2g is the maximum the motherboard supports) and i want to replace the Graphics Card with out replacing my crappy 300w PSU. Ideally I'm looking for something to run games such as MW2 at low to medium settings with good fps.

The Card I'm looking at right now is a galaxy Low profile, low power 9600 GT, i have a Dual Core and one hardisk, would my PSU sneak by? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162030

I have one of the PSU's listed here: http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/R/2906012R/2906012Rcl3.shtml

If that card won't run any other Suggestions? I'm not looking for beautiful display, just playability and decent fps.

More about want upgrade video card replacing
  1. i would look into an ATI HD5670 if i were you, its a low power card and your PSU should handle it :)
  2. I just Checked, I have a Bestec 300W PSU, http://support.gateway.com/s/POWER/6506087R/6506087Rnv.shtml

I'm worried about if my PSU gives out enough amps for the Card, and i actually found a Deal for the 5670 cheaper then the galaxy one i meant to buy. Thank's for the quick reply
  3. im pretty sure your PSU is enough because the card only takes power from the PCI-E slot itself and the slot delivers a max of 75 watt.
  4. The HD5670 Doesn't need any external power connectors? This was the reason i decided on the Galaxy 9600GT
  5. nope, it doesnt need any external connectors so i think youll be fine :)
  6. You will be fine with HD5670, it doesn't need additional power connector... :)
