[Solved] I wanna upgrade my processor

My MoBo is an ASUS P5QL-VM DO/CSM LGA 775 Intel B43 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard and my current processor is an Intel Core 2 duo E6600 (@ 2.40GHz). (In case some might need to know, I have a 700W PSU, a Geforce 9800GTX+ GPU and 4 gigs of ram).

So I've been pretty much wondering: Can I upgrade to a better CPU with my current MoBo? If so, which? Or which brand? I basically know nothing about compatibility and such, thus why I ask.

I would just overclock your chip instead spending money on a faster one.

LGA 775 is a dead socket. I would save money for a complete system upgrade myself. You would be upgrading obsolete tech at least from a new buy standpoint.

I thought about overclocking, but as I don't know much about PCs, I wouldn't want to fry something in it.

Also, curse that technician for selling me that micro board. xD At least it was cheap.
