Wireless network card

Some laptops have very small physical wireless adapter switches which are a lot easier to turn off than they are to find. Have a good look around for such a switch. If needs be, find th emaker's manual online and read that.[/#000ff]

Some laptops use an Fn key combination. If you've tried both that and the physical switch and no joy -- have a look in Control Panel, Hardware, Device Manager and see if the wireless network adapter is listed or whether it has a yellow flag fault indicator. You may need to download a driver for the adapter from the laptop maker's site or the adapter's chipset maker's site (Intel, Broadcomm are common models in laptops).
