Transfer data fromide hdd to sata hdd

is there a converter to work between ide and sata drives

I've never heard of directly transfering files between 2 hard drives with just a cable, and I see no reason to need to connect them together. All you need to do is have both drives in your computer, 1 hooked up by it's IDE to the motherboard, the other by it's sata, and transfer the files within windows or whatever os you have.
