Hello...
I recently purchased a powerful desktop but I have a problem with the hardware were my windows can’t read all of my hardware if I’m not mistaking because I have a 32-bit Processor
I have 8GB or RAM and 2 nvidia Geforce GX2 9800 Graphic Card each one is equivalent to 2GB of Graphic memory
Currently I have Intel Core 2 Quad 3.00 GHz 32-bit
My motherboard model is ASUS striker ii formula
It will onlt detect 2GB of RAM and 1GB of Graphic card-Im really saaaaaaaaaaaad and disappointed
This is the list of compatible Intel Quad Processors from ASUS site for my motherboard but it will not say wither they are a 32-bit or 64-bit processor??
please help me and advise me to an Intel Quad processor 64-bit so I can start searching for it!!

hmmm... i just assumed that all core CPU's were 64 bit like their AMD counterparts... I guess not... maybe try a xeon socket 775? they are 64 aren't they?

Download and run the following
http://www.cpuid.com/downloads/cpu-z/1.57-32bits-en.zip
Then post here what procesor model you have.

I really struggle to believe that your processor is not 64bit capable since all the processors on socket 775 are 64bit capable.
The most probable explanation is that your OS is not 64bit this not all your ram is recognized. (specification). Also under instructions it should have em64t.

What you need to do is Buy a 64bit version of windows and install it.

Thanks for posting my friend. Currently I’m at work so as soon as I retune home I will run the good software you suggested to me and I will post the outcomes.
I really don’t know that much about processors and my one maybe is a 64-bit without me knowing that.

thank you very much...
I'll get back to you guys.

Yeah your CPU is 64 bit. All of the CPUs on that list you posted are 64 bit. You need a 64 bit operating system to see all of your RAM.

Get Windows 7 64 bit and you will see all your RAM.

Thank you for posting ricky
As per slo to double check I run the software CPUz and here are the results
name: Intel core 2 Quad Q9650
Package Socket 775 LGA
Specification: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz
So its a 64-bit CPU to begin with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
