Will a XFX 5850 fit in a CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout?

I'm planning on a buying and building a new computer soon and I need to know if the XFX 5850(standard not BE) will fit in the CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout? It says it fits 10.5 " graphics cards and the 5850 is only 9.5" but I've seen multiple reviews saying the power connector cables at the 5850 back extend it's width by 1 to 2" so I'm kinda worried.

Also would a 5770 x 2 be a better choice then the 5850? I'm going to be gaming on a 1440 x 900 for about 3 months then buying a 22" Asus w/ 1920 x 1080. Games I'm interested in are mainly Crysis, Far Cry 2, Assassin's Creed, COD6 and Crysis 2 when it comes out.

Answer 1: You should have no problem fitting a 5850 into that case.

Answer 2: 5770 x 2 would actually be a better price/performance choice, but buying 2 cards is always a bit riskier than 1. Maybe you should buy a single 5770 to start off with, because at 1440 x 900 you'll be able to max any game with just one 5770. Then when you get your new monitor you could see how the single 5770 performs, and if you're not satisfied, get another 5770

Personally I like the 5770 idea, but you can't go wrong with a 5850 either.

Np, good call on sticking with one card.
Plus now you can always buy another 5850 down the road to make your pc even more of a beast.

yes, i have installed the Sapphire HD 5850 in my storm scout and there's no problem, but you should be aware of cooling it down, mine has a very high temp when playing over a 3 or 4 hours

You might want to consider a 6870, they're around $240.
