So after going through Proximon's parts guide, I planned out something that ended up looking like a build he recommended at the very bottom of the guide. I need some changes though, listed at the bottom of this post.
The parts that I -could- find, (excluding the HSF and HDD) added up to $1029.
Here's what I need.
A build that:
A. Includes at least the CPU and mobo listed above. I like them.
B. Includes a 5870 as a GPU. I guess I could settle for 5770's crossfired.
C. Leaves Crossfire as an option for the future if single GPU selected.
D. Costs around $1050-$1150 WITH the parts I didnt include before in price.
^ Those mobos won't let you run crossfire. The i7 one can't even use AMD Radeons, and it only has 1 PCIe slot so it won't let you use SLI either.
But they definitely are good deals. The CPUs are pretty good; don't feel like checking benchmarks right not to compare your i5 with his i7 or even PIIx6 but you can do that easily on here. But yeah xfire and/or sli with not work with those mobos. The cheap mobos + cheap-ish GPU's are probably what make those setups so inexpensive, which is good for a basic user but they're not very futureproof.
