Hello, I have an HP Pavilion elite (cant remember what code, E9140 or something). It was nice an cheap for what it can do. I run 64-bit win-7 on it currently, it has an AMD X4 910 processor and currently has a ATI HD 4350 in it. as you can guess, that card sucks. A lot.
Well ive been looking for a suitable temporary replacement so that some games are at least playable (eg: Crysis).
Ive been looking at an HD 4770 (package comes with new power supply as that is needed). I am wondering if my motherboard will support it. Its a Violet3 motherboard.

I am NOT looking to upgrade to a HD 5000 series graphics card.

Just wondering, from what I've seen everything should work but I'm no pro so I wouldn't know for sure.

Thanks for your help.

Solution
Well, since it already has a 4350 discrete card, I assume it has a PCI-E x16 slot. If so (do a check before you buy) then the 4770 will work, assuming sufficient power (which since you said you are upgrading as well, should be fine too).

There is a AGP version of the 4830 too.
