XFX 5970: difference between normal and black edition?

Hi,

sorry I really feel a bit stupid like not being able to use search engines, but I failed to find a definitive answer what the different would be between the normal XFX 5970 and the black edition.

Some reading hinted me that the black edition is laid out for overclocking, but I'm not sure. Is the answer that simple?

thanks :-)

well the black edition is factory overclocked and i believe you get a overvolting tool with it.

No need to buy black edition, because with normal version, you can OC it for yourself... :D

i completely agree, but i think the black editions GPU's are cherry picked and that you maybe could get a higher overclock on it compared to normal 5970. but that only matters for the OC enthusiasts :)

HD5970 is a very fast card, even without OC you can throw any games on it and that card can easily eat them all... :)
