Hello,
I have about £550 ($812 i could add 100 dollars, 60-70 pounds more if needed) to make my first pc. Can you kindly tell me whats the best setup i could have. I will mainly use this pc for gaming.

So far what i have though off:

amd 955 - £125 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164047

GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (crossfire both at x16 mode) - £90 http://cgi.ebay.ie/Gigabyte-GA-MA790FXT-UD5P-Crossfire-AM3-Motherboard-/160430940066?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Motherboards_CPUs&hash=item255a6ddfa2

Corsair 4GB DDR3 1600MHz - £94 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/178942

FSP Everest 600W PSU - £70 http://www.ebuyer.com/product/204323

hd 5850 - £225 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2GB-ATi-Radeon-HD-5850-1GB-HDMI-1044Ghz-Graphics-Card-/120567168179?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_Computing_Computer_Components_Graphics_Video_TV_Cards_TW&hash=item1c125cfcb3

total = £604 , (i got case, 2tb hdd, dvd/cd rw, win 7 32/64bit)

I would recommend Phenom II 955 instead of the 965... Just overclock it and save $20.
What about windows? Have you included that in your price? Win7 is another $100 or so.
Why get a crossfire motherboard if you're not going to do crossfire? Two 4850s for only $50 more will smoke a single 5770 (but take a lot more power)
Another option cpu-wise is you could go Intel... i5 750 and p55 motherboard. It would add another $50 or so, but generally perform better (and use less power).

SLI and Crossfire are not the same... completely different technologies that perform the same function.
Not all crossfire mobos support sli and vice versa.
By the way, what games are you planning to play and at what resolution? The 5850 might be overkill...

if you are gonna use crossfire i would not recommend that board because the second PCI-e only would run in x4, if you want to run crossfire you should look int a motherboard with the 790x, 790fx or 890fx chipset :)
