Hey guys. I will be building a new system in the coming weeks based around an intel i5-750 and an HD5850. But I also need to get a new monitor to go with it.

Here is what I am looking for:

Budget $180-250 (after discounts), I would like to stay around $220, but that is my range

Size 23"-24"

Resolution 1920x1080

Speakers- if the monitor doesn't come with it, I will go ahead and get a decent 2.1 system. But picture quality comes first.

Would prefer some sort of adjustment controls (tilt, swivel, height), but once again picture quality comes first!

This monitor is for gaming, movies/videos, schoolwork

I don't REALLY have a preferred brand, but I have been lookin at Asus, Dell, and Hp. I get discounts from Hp (varying amount), but there are also some really good coupons on Dell monitors right now. Asus tends to be cheaper anyways.

Here are some examples of what I have been looking at...

$209 after coupon, w/ 2048x1152 res.

$181 after coupon

$239 w/ discount, I believe Newegg sells it for the same price though. This is a brand new monitor with virtually NO reviews.

Picture quality is my number one priority as well as general quality of the monitor (hoping for no dead pixels). I appreciate any feedback you guys can give me. I really have no expertise in monitors. Thanks.

I was also wondering, will the odd resolution of the first Dell monitor present any problems when watching DVDs or Blu-rays in full screen?
