Sata hdd help

Hello,i just bought a 1tb sata hdd. but when i tried to install xp on it. it said i need install raid driver from floppy. but i dont have a floppy drive so i tried to install vista that wouldnt let me either any help would be fantastic. dont know a lot about components and drivers and stuff. so if you could break it down for me a bit that would also be fantastic.

First, format the HDD - NTFS. Then start using it any way you want to.

Disable RAID in the BIOS unless you need it.
