Why my SATA slot are detected as IDE

Hi everyone, I have GIGABYTE GA-M68MT-S2 motherboard and I noticed everytime I boot my computer my sata slot are detected as ide in post message in my monitor. As far as I know sata are much faster than ide that is my concerned. Plaese Help me is ok or not?

There should not be any speed difference as the name has no bearing on this, just the standards and protocols that are used. This is because you are actually using a SATA connection rather than an IDE, it just appears as that

There is a setting in the BIOS to switch into native SATA mode as opposed to IDE.
