Application running slow on i3 machine.

Hello,
We are using an application developed in VB6. This application runs slow on i3 machine (Windows7 OS), while the same application runs smoothly in a dual core machine(Windows7 OS).
Please help..

That app may need to be optimized. What app is it?

its a retail software.
Was developed in VB6. It runs great in xp and windows7 ( machines with (intel) Dual Core processors).
But when we run this software in a machine with i3 intel processor, the software slows downs substantially and hangs sometimes.
