Kingston memories on Dell GX280

I want to upgrade the RAM to 2x1GB n my Dell GX280 desktop. The official site of Kingston shows as compatible the KTD-DM8400/1G model.

I have found a cheaper model
KVR533D2N4/1G that has the same characteristics (1GB 533Mhz Non-ECC).

So, is recommending the KTD memories a "marketing" trick in order for Kingston to get more money by selling a more expensive model or will I be OK with the KVR ones?

  1. Here is an alternative site that I use. They are very good, and you can always try cheaper ram. The nice thing about going to these sites is that they guaranty compatibility.
