Today I started having problems sending email in Outlook 2003. I get the
pop up error "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the
problem persists, restart Outlook."
I performed Detect and Repair and also rebooted; didn't help.
I then went to the control panel mail applet and none of the buttons work.
I tried clicking the buttons for E-Mail Accounts..., Data Files..., and Show
Profiles..., and nothing. So it must be a MAPI problem?
Help! I'm dead in the water and have no idea what to do next.

Try restarting your outlook in safe mode.
Outlook.exe /safe
Where is your Exchange server?
