Well im going to the USA, and im planing to buy the parts on compusa, since i can't order online, and compusa seems to be the best bet on retail store. Im going to Houston or San Antonio. I heard theres a microcenter in Houston, but on their online site they dont have any processors on sale???

Well, lets role it:

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: July.

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming>Internet>Office applications(word).

PARTS NOT REQUIRED:I have a HAF 932 case, an ATI 5850 Twin Frozr II videocard from MSI, mouse, keyboard, OS.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Compusa(preferred) Microcenter(I dont know 100% if im going to Houston).

PARTS PREFERENCES: I have always used Intel, but im open to the AMD Phenoms II x4 and x6.

OVERCLOCKING: Yes, if the motherboard has the option, such as ASUS Turbo,MSI oc Genie or the one from Gygabyte... if the motherboard doesn't has any automatic overclocking then no.

CROSSFIRE: Yes, I have an ATI 5850 Twin Frozr II videocard from MSI, and im buying a second one in 2 years, approx.
MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080 LG 32" model 32LH40

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
-PSU modular IF possible, crossfire ready, and silent(i had an ocz stealth x stream 700 watts, very good psu BUT at load is noisy, and even after i finished gaming the psu didnt want to idle and kept at load noise.

-My max is around $800 with taxes.

-A heatsink fan(no V8 OR V10)

Thanks and cheers, i appreciate it!

So well after 1 day no answer...i5,i7,Phenoms II x4 and x6 builds are what im looking for.Dont care about the video card since i allready got a huge one, care more about the motherboard that is crossfire capable and the two pci express x16 slots working at x16(if not then 1 at x16 and the other one at x8....since if it works at x4 its a waste).

Thx for the input

I came up with this build:

CPU(worth to pay $20 more to get the 3.4ghz version?):
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5752143&sku=A79-1955

Motherboard:
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6089047&sku=M452-6096

Memory:
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4837614&sku=C13-8220

Power supply(worth to pay $10 more to get the 850 watts version?):
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5222601&sku=K450-2532

Hard Drive(worth to pay$10 more to get 750gb version?) :
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4499974&sku=TSD-500AS7

CD/DVD drive:
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5204603&sku=L12-1334%20OEM

Heatsink(is it good?):
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4434989&sku=C283-1202

TOTAL: $690

Notes: I choose that motherboard because it has nice features like 3.u usb and the pci express slots...i can use corssfire both at x16 and even throw a Physx card.

I just noticed it has OC Genite Lite applicable from BIOS, but it also has some buttons on the bottom of the motherboard to crank it up.

Now that i think c3 version of 955 will be enough...siince it will be overclocked by the motherboard to around 3.6 ghz.

1. If 8/8 when 2 discrete in CF have a look at Asrock 870Extreme3

2. 16/16 890FX
Cheap: Biostar TA890GXE
Mid : Asrock 890FX Deluxe3
Premium : Other than that MSI havea look att Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5?

3. Why not tried and tested Corsair 750TX for PSU?
http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3438609&CatId=4294

4. 955BE is fine

5. U dun sound like a OCer so either stock HSF or hunt for a CM 212+ when u do decide to do so (best via BIOS not software for best results)?

Thx for the reply :)

1.- You mean 8/8 wont be a great loss in performance compared to 16/16?

2.- Will have a look at them.

3.- Damn didnt saw that one, but my qestion is: How can a single +12v rail feed 2 video cards that need 4 +12v rails? It has 60 amps needed to feed x2 5850 but i cant figure out how to connect them with a single +12v rail.

4.- Thanks, will choose that.

5.- Nope never done an overclock to a cpu, however to my 5850 i overclocked it to 900mhz core clock, because it has easy softwares to use....that must be similar to the OC Genie thing. And yeah i choose that $35 heatsink fan because the CM +212 is so popular its most of the time out of stock, and those who have it on stock they sell it for $50+

1. Nah not significant enuff to get worried

3. Dun worry about single/multi railss : a quality PSU by any other name/rail....:p

5. Source out other online h/w vendors ^^

You are welcomed
