Laptop keep shutdown by itself

Hai..

I'm using Acer Aspire 5742g (if i not mistaken) with WIN7 now...but recently my lappy keep shut down by itself..at first(a few days before it happen),it keep telling that "Dekstop Window Manger has stopped working" but when I ask my friend he said it wont make that effect to my lappy..he said it maybe because of overheating but sometimes my lappy can on for a long time but i have to on & on it again & again..I try to repair my windows but unfortunately,i cant do that because it will keep shudown by itself....when I check Device Manager,i detect that Intel(R) Management Engine cannot start..does that thing have any connection with my problem & how can i fix my lappy?pls help?

Try booting into safemode and select Last good known configuration.
Stop listening to your friend. If something isn't working, it is for a reason. Error messages are not displayed, just for no reason at all.
Your OS may be corrupted and has to be repaired using your Win CD.
Of course, if overheating is the cause, you have a major issue.

huhu..unfortunately,i cant do that because my lappy will shutdown before the repair finish...

OK, sometimes battery is at the end of life and even on Ac connect, it may not be enough to run things like install or the defrag ...

Is your battery lasting hours on one charge?

opsss...sorry...not AC,its DC...I take out the battery..sorry..
