AMD x3 PII BE unlocked 4th core now back to 3 cores?

So about 6 months ago i unlocked the 4th core of my X3 PII 720 BE and ran it on prime95 for around 16 hours without a problem. Today i noticed however i dont have 4 cores in the performance tab in the taskmanager. I exit to bios and sure enough unleashing mode is enabled and set to 4 cores. I Disable it, and restart. 3 cores in the performance tab. I re enable it and restart, still 3 cores in the performance tab. I did a google search but cant find anything on this at all. Could my 4th core of burnt out? I Usually never leave my PC on for more then 2 days at a time, and even then very rarely.

Did you try resetting the cmos?

No i have not. That is removing the battery usually right?
  2. So i just reset the cmos, got the message at the beginning went in and set the correct timings for my RAM and let it boot. Looked, 3 cores. Restarted when in and turned on ACC, unleashing mode, per core, -2%,saved and exit. Looked again, still at 3 cores.

Also apparently having your PC time reset to 2050 will make it so you cant sign into ANYTHING, like gmail/youtube/ and toms hardware.

    Everest says VBAT is 3.33V.
  4. Put the EC Firmware Selection to Hybrid, and ACC to Auto (if you have that in your BIOS) - nothing else. I don't know what mobo you have.

The Asus M4A79XTD Evo. Will try those settings.
  6. Alright as far as im aware/could find on google i dont have the EC Firmware option as it seems to be for GB mobos. I tried settings ACC to just auto. Nothing. Still 3 cores.
  7. From what I know, for Asus it's ACC to auto and enable Unleashing.

Yep, its just 3 cores no matter which settings i use, even though it was working fine before. No idea what happened.
  9. Sp i tried using the 4th core in a 3 core setup ( Core 0,1,3,) and failed to unleash is all i got. So im guessing the 4th core has burnt out for me.
  10. That's a great CPU even with 3 cores.

Yep, im not too sad. I bought it thinking id only have 3 cores. The 4th core for 6 months was a bonus i guess lol.

Likely the 4th core wasn't up to par from the factory, that's the reason it was sold as a tri-core. At least you got what you paid for.

Yeah i figured i just find it odd it worked for so long without a hitch then this lol, was hoping it might of been a bug.
