What would be faster?

I have overclocked my i7 950 to 4GHz and I have 3x2GB XMS3 1600, but I don't think my mobo can handle speeds over 1600MHz since I can't get it to run stable past that with any settings, so I've decided to reach 4GHz by lowering my rams speed from 1600MHz to 1400MHz and I have lowered the timings from 9-9-9-24 to 8-8-8-21, my question is: 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 or 1400MHz 8-8-8-21, which one is faster? I don't care about benchmarks, just real use, specially games.

go with 1400MHz 8-8-8-21, cuz you say you do OC and your not sure if your mobo can handle 1600.. my opinion
