DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 (AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up

DDR3 1800(O.C.)/1600(O.C.)/1333/1066 (AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz)

The above is listed as my memory requirement for my mother board. O.C. is Over clocked but will DDR2 operate in requirements from my mother board listed above. I am building the system and do not know if I choose DDR2 1066(PC2 8500) will work. Not familiar with what (PC 2 8500) means as description above from my motherboard states.

I am not sure how to find out if my CPU is a 100 or 200 series either. it is an athalon II X2.

  1. What motherboard? From what you wrote the board needs DDR3 RAM not DDR2.

Don't bother with the CPU series, it has to be AM3, yours is AM3.
  2. My motherboard is ASUS M4A78LT-M
  3. Yep, it's DDR3. The one above is good.
