Hello,
how do the the Am2+, Am3 mobo's work? They accept both CPU types? Is there a jumper to set depending on CPU type?

AM3 Mobos only accept AM3 CPUs and DDR3.

Most AM2+ Mobos take AM3/AM2+/AM2 CPUs and DDR2-1066.

AM2 Mobos can sometimes take AM3 CPU with a compatible BIOS, but is limited to AM2/AM2+ CPUs and DDR2-800 otherwise.

Usually the motherboard will be described as a AM2+, AM3 compatible. The main difference between an AM3 motherboard and a AM2+ is that a AM3 board will use DDR3 RAM where the AM2+ board uses DDR2 the performance difference is not noticeable.
