hi , can you please help me i cannot access my samba server on my windows desk top but on my ubunto i can access and no problem at all

Try using an explicit IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.100) rather than a named resource.

This could be a number of things. Make sure you are both connected to the same workgroup. By default, on Linux you will be connected to the 'WORKGROUP' workgroup. It could also be in the samba.conf file, this file can be very picky and you have to be very precise when choosing folder locations. REMEMBER, Linux is case sensitive. So 'Folder' and 'folder' would appear as two completely different folders.
