I'm thinking about getting a laptop and I would play a couple of games on it like Left 4 dead 2, crysis, some strategy games, fps etc.

Is there a huge difference between the two?
Also the 5650 laptop comes with a core i5 430m and 4gb ddr3 ram= $850

the 230m comes with a core i7-720qm and 4gb of ddr3 ram= $1050

Would it be dumb to get the 230m just for a little bit of difference (and 200 bucks) or will the core i7 and 230m demolish the i5 and 5650?

Thanks

Also with the same exact specs, a samsung laptop has the same exact specs as the gateway with the 5650 but the samsung has a geforce gt 330m instead

which would be better again?
Thanks

Core i5-430M (2.26Ghz, 4Threads, turbo boost up to 2.53 GHz, 3M cache)
Core i7-720QM (1.6Ghz, 8Threads, turbo boost up to 2.8 GHz, 6M cache)
Core i7-720QM adds about $200 in price. You could find a i7-720QM with a HD 5650 graphics chip (or a 5870 for that matter) and of course it would be a better gaming laptop for about $300 more (or $750 more for a Asus G73JH i7-720QM and HD 5870).

The i5-430M and HD 5650 combo is probably a sweet spot in price vs. performance. IMO it's a good balance between CPU and GPU for an all-round gaming laptop.
