Crucial SSD, should I upgrade firmware? (just purchased)

Just bought this off newegg and some reviews are saying to upgrade the firmware while some say no.

Should I? And would anyone know a link to the firmware for this drive if I should?

To check the firmware, you need some the software like AS SSD or the intel RST. http://www.alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/downloads.php?cat_id=4&download_id=9

The new version FW is 000F, if your SSD has this you don't.

Of course you should update it! Crucial wouldn't hinder SSD performance on purpose.

I would update the drive, but always make a backup! The release notes mention:
• Improved compatibility with certain SAS expanders and peripheral RAID cards.
• Improved throughput stability under extremely heavy workloads.
• Improved data protection in the event of unexpected, asynchronous power loss.
First point is not important for most customer, but the last two affect and especially the last affects everybody.
