Toshiba 1TB External Hard Drive not being recognized

Hopefully someone can help me, because I'm lost.
I just started up my external hard drive and it comes up as a CD Drive (G:).
I've gone to My Computer > Manage > Disk Management
It shows CD ROM 15 250 MB RAW
But if I go into Device Manager, under Disk Driver I can find the right driver for it which is Toshiba External HDD USB Device. I think it's try to access the virtual CD Rom drive that's on the hard drive.
How do I get it to access the right information so I can access my hard drive.

  1. Try changing it's drive letter:
In Disk Management, right-click "CD ROM 15 250 MB RAW" and choose "Change Drive Letter & Paths".
    Click "Change".
Select a different letter from the drop-down alphabet.
    Click 'OK'
