OCZ Octane or Vertex Plus

Hi,

I'm new to the whole SSD drives and I'm looking to install one as my primary boot drive in my PC. I've not got loads of £££ so I was looking at either the OCZ Octane (from here) or the OCZ Vertex Plus (from here)

Has anyone got either of these? Which would you recommend?

I'm looking for reliability as I don't want the hassle of it dieing on me

Get the Octane; it is a newer model than the Vertex Plus and more reliable.
Whatever model SSD you get, update the firmware on it to the latest version.

I've read some mixed reviews on the performance of the Octane but by what I can gather it seems more reliable

If reliability is your primary criteria (as it should be) then move on to another brand entirely like a Crucial M4 or a Samsung 830 or maybe an Intel.

I haven't managed to find a 120/128Gb SSD at that price other than OCZ sadly which is why I narrowed it down to those two

I take that last post back - I have found a Crucial M4 for the same kinda price (here)

Would that be a better choice?
