Was looking to finally purchase my sandybridge mobo and was curious if 2 560 TI's+Asus Essence ST soundcard would fit in the Asus p8p67 PRO or should I be looking at something like the MSI P67A-GD65? The MSI board looks like it could hold both the 560s (most likely MSI's version) and still fit the soundcard on the outer most pci 1 slot while the PRO doesn't.

Link's off newegg for pictures

I thought the ASUS PRO and MSI GD65 both could run 1 graphics card at x16 or 2 at x8, is that not correct? I wouldn't mind buying the ASUS Deluxe if so as long as it could fit the ST+560's in SLI and if I could find one in stock lol.

The soundcard/first graphics card have already been purchased which is why I'm in such a predicament, and I'm going overseas in 2 weeks so I need to know as soon as possible so I can recieve the mobo before I leave :(

yes they can
PCIe_1 and PCIe_2 x8/x8 in SLI/CF
,you can use PCI above gray PCIE_2 on Pro or bottom one on MSI MB,the more spacing the better

Sorry, that Asus is good. For the MSI no info whatsoever on the PCIex16 speed nor even on their site.

http://us.msi.com/index.php?func=proddesc&maincat_no=1&...

For both of them it's the same thing, the sound card near the first video card on the Asus (use the first PCI slot for the sound card), or near the second one on the MSI (sound card on the last PCI slot). The area to the bottom of those PCIe slots matters since that's where the fan is, if that Essence is right above a video card it doesn't matter, it shouldn't be right below one.

The MSI P67A-GD65 is x8/x8 SLI - it's description is 'horrible' on both the site and newegg. 560Ti has a MAJOR caveat - it's limited to 2-WAY SLI {3-WAY is not supported}.

The ASUS P8P67 PRO is fine if you don't want Marvell SATA3 RAID AND you can use your Sound Card as @ortoklaz described above the grey.

Is there some reason for the sound card?

If there's any way to get your $ back do it, the onboard sound is fine in those MOBO's. Use the $200 for an SSD and you'll thank yourself big time later.

It's to late to return it but I'm ok with the purchase, looking to eventually buy a Sennheiser HD650 which would benefit from the amp. And I was hoping to pick up a OCZ Vertex 3 but it seems they won't be out in time before I leave, gonna have to wait to pick one up later on and take the USD to EURO hit :fou:
