5770 problem

hi,
I have an xfx ati 5770 and when i play games like mirrors edge and crysis it gets hung/lags at many places, my motherboard is GA-945GCM-S2L, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz and 2gb ram.
I have a 450 W PSU with 17A on a +12v rail, im guessing this lag/hanging is because of inadequate power supply.
Is my analysis correct?....if not then what is wrong?

Your CPU might be bottlenecking your graphics card or your motherboard may have a defective PCIe slot. The minimum PSU requirement is 450w so I'd highly recommend getting a higher PSU maybe a 600-700w PSU. PSU first then report back with an update.
