ATI Sapphire 5870 vapour x eyefinity oc

Hi there,

I have just upgraded to a ati sapphire 5870 vapour x 1 gig overclock and when trying to play arma 2 all i am seeing are white flickerings all over the screen which are making the game unplayable. I have tried the card with the drivers off the cd that comes with the card, the latest driver from ati website and older drivers but all to no avail. I used to have the 4870 with 512 meg of memory and never had any problems with drivers but this is a real pain in the rear end.

My system specs are:

Intel Core i5 750 - Quad Core CPU
4GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3 Memory
Asus P7P55D LE Intel P55 Motherboard
Akasa Freedom Tower CPU Cooler .

This a a scan 3xs overclock to 4ghz.

That's called artifacting. The card is overheating.

No it's definately not overheating that's causing this. The vapour x runs really cool with default settings and even cooler when using manual fan control. The problem starts as soon as arma 2 is started so card hasn't had time to overheat even if this was the problem.

Thanks for suggestion though.

How about other games, or furmark ? Your cards' ram might be defective, if its just one game, well thats something else. Run some other 3d programs.

Played Dirt 2 and to be fair i do get some glitching in there but not white flickering as in arma 2. Just played Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising and no problem there at all. Dark Messiah Might and Magic no probs either. Really just seems to be arma 2.
