Hey there, I am looking for suggestions on this build that I have recently made with someone.

It's a little over my budget but I feel that the little extra is worth it.

If you guys know of ANYTHING that could save me money for similar/better results, PLEASE let me know.

  1. Couple of recommendations should save you $100 with similar performance.

    CPU / MOBO Combo: Athlon II X3 440 & MSI 890GX

  2. I like that GPU better so I have saved it, as for the CPU MOBO Combo, what kind of Mother Board am I looking for if I would like a:

    AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Processor Model HDX945WFGIBOX

EDIT: Or would I be better off with the Athlon that you recommend?
  3. Since you are leaving the option open to Crossfire, I would look at an ASUS, Gigabyte or MSI 890 (GX or FX) motherboard or look at the 790X motherboard, which are at a great price but don't have USB 3.0 or SATA 6.0Gb/s support (not necessary right now though)
  4. Do you mean the same Mother Board that you recommended?

And what is the difference between the Athlon II X3 and Phenom II X4 performance wise?
  5. I mean you want an AM3 motherboard with the 890 chipset be it either the 890GX or 890FX. I listed ASUS, Gigabyte and MSI as they are the "best three" for AMD. The combo deal I listed would work nicely for your but if you are wanting the X4 945, you can choose your own motherboard to fit your needs.

Here is a comparision between the two CPU's you've listed (use the X4 940 since they are similar in performance)...
  6. Yes... The CPU and Motherboard will work nicely with the Sapphire HD 5770!

Good choice on the motherboard :)
