M3A32-MVP Deluxe CPU Support

Hi all,i am looking to upgrade my pc.I currently have the above MB with a AMD 9950 BE 2.6Ghz oc @3Ghz with two 1gig 4870`s` in CF and 8 gig of OCZ ram. Now i was looking at upgading it all but cant afford to so i have been looking at updating my MB bios to accept the Phenom II range and probably get a 965 and then get a AMD 6950 and leave it at that. Now my question is,considering my MB is DDR2 and the 965 has ddr3 support would i get 100% performance from this CPU on just a Bios update,or would i be better off upgrading the MB as well.

Thanks for the link rolli59,made for some very interesting reading,so in short if i stick a Phenom II into the MB i have now it will perform just as well as if i brought a new MB as long as i have the corresponding Bios update.

Yes! DDR2 ram has usually faster timings than DDR3 and gains back some of the speed difference there.
