Gtx 295 power question

I want to ask that i have a xfx gtx295 (first generation) card i was wondering if i turn of one of the gpu on the card will it consume less power.

Yes but I don't recommend doing so. A friend of mine has two of them along with a 9800gt so I can understand about high power consumption. If it is your psu being not enough then just get a better one.

That generation of Nvidia cards had some power saving functions, their idle power isn't bad , well at least by earlier standards
