Low FPS with 5870 or no? *HIGH RES PIC)

After playing AVP with my 2gb 5870 Vapor-X I feel as if the frame rate...is a little "low" compared to benchmarks I'm seeing. The game looks beautiful, but I get drops down to 25 in any of the jungle like maps with everything maxed out in DX11, I thought the 5870 could handle AVP maxed out without a hiccup? Just checking to see if I'm wrong and those drops are normal for this game maxed out, thanks :D
Here's a picture of the fps w\ all setting maxed @ 1920x1200

In the marine campaign I get an average of 15-27fps maxed out... 2nd pic shows marine campaign cutscene @ 11 fps

Try updating to Catalyst 10.4 drivers, and also make sure your graphic card is getting enough power from the PSU.

System Specs:
Corsair 750w PSU
4GB OCZ Reaper Ram (1066 DDR2)
5870 Vapor-X 2GB
Phenom II 940 @ 3.6ghz X4
Seagate Barracuda 240gb and 1tb
Sound Blaster Xi-fi

It was strange, in Bad Company 2 it auto-runs in DX-11 if you have the hardware right? I average 50-60 fps in that maxed out. Far cry 2 maxed out (ultra with full aa\af) dx10 I get a benchmark of 63 fps (I guess that's about right considering how much that game needs)

I noticed after playing AVP DX11 that I could no longer start it..mind you I've been playing it for the past week or so, uninstalled it..same prob, updated Direct-X and my fps in that "11 fps scene" went up to 26\30 and the general fps went up to 40-50 fps from 23-26.

Guess I had an older version of Direct-X 11? Or this is all coincidence and the card is going to crap out again, I'm not getting my hopes up this time as I've been through two cards and keep having issues xD

Pity, this game in DX11 maxed...nothing else on the market comes even close to it's graphical quality, shame the game play can be "meh" at times.

With a off-brand gaming title like AVP you can't always expect perfectly smooth or bug free game play. It's a movie franchise for goodness sake. ;)

However, the very fact that it is a DX11 + Tessellation title would suggest it's actually going to tax the 5850, 5870, GTX 470, GTX 480 as it can use all their abilities. I've never played AVP, so I have no idea what to expect from it. But if the graphics quality is as impressive as you folks are saying, why should it be so surprising that you can get momentary 25FPS periods in the game play?

The issue was when I was playing the marine campaign, it wasn't "momentary" it was a constant 10-25 fps, never a steady 25 that was the MAX

Good news is 5870 seems rock solid now, haven't crashed at all, and putting the memory to stock values (it was at 1300mhz which I don't see a single 5870 normally clocked at those speeds, so I guess that's why it crashes). I remember on the 4870, GDDR5 is just not a "over-clocking" friendly memory, and it's too fast to even bother with really. I just wish I could unlock the core oc, Vapor-X could easily go to 1ghz.. :-\

Also, is 40-60fps in fallout3 @ 1920x1200 maxed out right? I just feel like I'm getting a lot lower than other benchmarks at times >:(
