CPU upgrade

I want to be able to play battlefield bad company 2 on my pc.
It says that i need a quadcore but i cant get one because of my mobo.

Currently i have an amd athlon 4400+ at 2.3ghz dualcore, and if i get the 5600+ 2.9 ghz dual core would it be a good upgrade? Or will i just be wasting my money?

A dual-core will work just fine. It recommends you get a quad-core, doesn't say you need one. A gain of 600MHz won't really be worth the additional cost, imo. Have you considered overclocking your current CPU?
