Backup and restore

i always restore my windows 8 activation after wiping my hard disk to remove viruses and some other problem but right now i want to change from a 32 bit to a 64 bit so can i restore from a 32 bit backup and restore it to a 64 bit windows 8

  1. No, your backup is in the architecture it was created in and cannot be changed. If you want to install 64-bit you'll need a 64-bit disk and do a clean install.

I think you miss understand me, what was i saying is about windows activation backup where you copy a file name 'store' in local disk>windows>system32>spp and then after reinstall windows you replace the existing file with the file you previously copy.
