I'm new to this forum, but I've lurked and done research here previously. I am going to be buying parts for a new budget build for Starcraft 2. I have done a fair bit of research and I'd just like final comments on this build before I order the parts. I have read the Tom's article on SC2 performance.

APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next 3 days

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Starcraft 2, windows movie maker for school, school work (light)

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: I'm buying everything new
PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: I am in Canada, so Newegg.ca looks like it has the best prices

PARTS PREFERENCES: by brand or type: I've gone with AMD/ATI because they seem to give the most value at this price point

OVERCLOCKING: Light at most. and no need to for xfire

MONITOR RESOLUTION: The selected res is 1600 by 900

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: I have the W7 64 bit. first time I'm building a PC myself but I'll just follow online guides. I'd like to play on ultra settings, but if I cant push completely ultra that is ok. My price range caps out at about 800 with monitor and parts, my current build hits 783 with shipping.

Quick Note if it wasnt clear: budget with shipping and taxes is 800, and the reason im on the quad is because my dad insists on it over the Rana or Regor.

Looks great, cept for the fact that your computer might bust into flames because of that powersupply. Get http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.418942. This will serve you well and your computer wont die.

Crap. Does it not work with .ca?

EDIT: Sorry, a lot of those combos dont work with canada. The parts I picked out should work great though, and I'm guessing you can get them in canada you just might not get the combo deals.

Wow, I'm actually going to do this lol, it's only $390 before rebates and really good for crysis, also, is the motherboard crossfire ready? And just to be sure can I disable the onboard 3000 and just install a dedicated one?

It is not crossfire ready, it does hybrid but that would require certain cards, and it doesnt make any real difference. Yes you can also install a dedicated one into that motherboard.

Back on the topic, does anybody else have some guidance? I'm looking to order it this weekend, so it's crunch time. Thanks

Since the ripjaw series isn't available atm, I am opting for these @ a similar price: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231193

It comes up around the price point I was looking for @ $494.93 before rebates. Awesome build goalguy. :D

I, too, am getting close to pulling the trigger on this; wondering if anyone has any other input as well.

One thing you might consider is, the 5770 is dx 11, but it's not exactly as good as the 4850, it's a decent price reduction and you also get more stream processors, etc.
