Hey forum

I'm installing a new OS on a brand new SATA hard drive, so the IDE that im using will be left inactive after the installation and data transfer is complete.

But... how can I transfer the data from my old hard drive to my new SATA one?

Whats the best way to do that?

Will the IDE one be detected while im on the new OS (SATA one)?
Can I plug in both at the same time?

this IDE hard drive has windows xp, the new hard drive will have windows 7.

In my setup I just use my IDE as a storage drive and it appears in my windows as Drive D. If I want any files moved over I just simply click and drag. I did however unplug the IDE drive until my SATA had windows installed just to make sure I was booting the right drive, not really necessary but it made it a smooth install.
