Help with ssd setup

Tags:

Hi!

I'm a noob when it comes to instaling/setting up hardware. I just set up RAM for the first time (with the help of this forum), but i never connected any drives myself yet. So i'd like to ask you for help once again.

I decided to upgrade because my first Kingstone SSD only has 128 GB of space. Only now, before installing the 2nd SSD (and RAM), i reailzed that the first one is running in IDE. So i searched this forum, downloaded Fix It, changed IDE to AHCI in BIOS and it works. One problem i have though is when PC boots up. First it lists ports and what is connected. I have nothing connected in Port-02 (also had nothing connected in ports 6-9 so i disabled GSATA 6/7 and 8/9 IDE Controller), because of that i always get this message afterward: "Detecting drives; Done; No drives found." Then windows loads normally. But how can i disable port-02 or get rid of this message? My mainboard is ga-x58a-ud3r (rev.1).

Tommorow i'll get the casing for the 2nd SSD, but i'm not even sure if i got the correct power cable and sata cable for connecting it.

http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q640/ToniBbaloni/f7... This is the only power cable i have left that fits in SSD and Power. It looks strange and has a hole, which i marked in the photo. Is this how it's supposed to be? Can i use this cable and connect it here? http://i1167.photobucket.com/albums/q640/ToniBbaloni/82...

I only have SATA 3 GB/s cable but the m4 SSD supports 6 GB/s. I read somewhere that it makes little difference which cable i use. Is this true?
