Upgrading to ssd in the near future

I plan on upgrading to an ssd some time soon. How do I make it boot up my os if I already have it on my hdd?

Best method is to Disconnect the HDD and connect SSD.
Verify bios is set to AHCI and re-install OS onto SSD. reconnect HDD.

mehod 2. Migrate your OS on the HDD -> the SSD.
Basically you connect the SSD, boot to a Migating program such as easeUS, or EZ Gig II. Migrate the OS to the SSD. set boot priority so the the Boot order is SSD first.

PS, You do have a Installation Disk for Your OS, correct???

Yes, I have the oem version. I don't plan on buying a ssd until they drop to a lower price, maybe closer to winter. I have not built my pc yet either. Should be coming in tomorrow.

Should be No problem then.
Personnaly I prefer the "Clean" Install over migrating from a HDD -> SSD.

Make Life easier, Set the BIOS to ahci before installing OS onto the HDD.
