I just got a new i5 2500k and p8p67 pro with a stick of 4gb corsair 1600 vengeance. It starts up then goes to windows system recovery and I tried all the settings, it goes to the screen with the bar than just bsod's. Im running vista. Any suggestions

No I am saying what you have to do when replacing motherboard! The windows install from the old installation does not have the drivers for the new one.

http://event.asus.com/2011/mb/Identify_B3_Motherboards/ here is the answer to your question... Like i said earlier, its the motherboard problem..

Sure you can reinstall Windows, and it might be the simplest fix.

However, if it was running fine then boot off the Windows DVD, press F8 until the 'Repair' screen appears and run System Restore, failure you have choices: Startup repair and lastly Reinstall Windows. If you reinstall Windows then run Windows update -- you might need to reinstall Apps.

What changes did you make to Windows i.e. installation, updates, drivers --- maybe a virus?
