CPU/MOBO - ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA mobo w/ Intel E5500 or 5400 CPU
Aug 25, 2010, 11:46 PM
Ok I'm about to upgrade my cpu to the E5500 or E5400 by intel. Good processor for the price. Only problem is it's not listed on the mobo's site for supported cpu's.
Now I did find many forums of people using this exact combination but with a different bios. Problem is you can only find the BIOS on a german website.
Now that's technically for the 775dual-vsta but will it work for mine?
Is there anyone who can read German who can help me? Or anyone rocking this combo who can help me?

The E5200 CPU family is based on the Wolfdale core. It only has a 200 MHz FSB frequency, so it may or may not work.
That "different" BIOS you talked about was an unofficial modded BIOS.
may or may not work.

there is no reason it will not work.
