9800GT or 9600GT

Hello,
I am gonna buy a GPU soon and ive decided with the 9600 and 9800 GT 512 mb versions. I know 9800GT is better but it costs RS1000($22) more than 9600GT. All i want to know is is it worth the extra money? I have a 1440x900 Monitor.

Those are old cards based on old technology. Are you buying used?

Are you in India? I'd wait for some suggestions from others in India, there must be better options for you.

Yeah im from India but are there any new cards for 100$-120$?

They are high but not surprised when it comes to India. If you are on a very limited income and unable to spare the extra cash or wait then go ahead and get the 9600gt.

They usually are just keep it clean and cool. It gets hot over there so cooling is more important.

if you don't have much cash to spend then going for 9600GT is still ok considering the resolution you're playing at. i owned 9600GSO before (which is a bit weaker than 9600GT) even at 1366 x 768 my card still able to play some games on high/mid setting with good frame rates

XFX has a very good reputation for their lifetime warranties, and I think they have double lifetime (say if you sell/give the card to a friend). But you need to register the card within 30 days of purchase to get the double lifetime warranty. Oh, I am not sure if the double lifetime is available in India.

If you cannot save up the extra $ for the 9800 GT, the 9600 GT will be just fine
