I got my gigabyte system with ga-k8nsc-939 for ten bucks at a garage sale. For two years now it was the best deal ever. recently I upgraded ram from 1 gb to kingston 4 gb. Worked fine for 30 minutes then, system shut down and will not run the hard drive. it recognizes it in the bios, but on boot up the xp 32 bit keeps asking for cd boot up disk. Ok, so the hard drive coincidently picked this time to go bad. It happens. I reverted to the old ram and still the same problem. Windows xp startup logo briefly comes on then, same message about boot up disks. If you have suggestions about that, I'd appreciate it! Otherwise, I'm thinking of buying a 500 gb drive and a 64 bit windows 7 os, since the xp software went with the old drive. Do you think the new os and drive will work without a gitch? Or, what drive would be better suited? Gygabye site has nothing on the subject. Neither does anyone else. Please help!

Yes, because the only requirement to using a 64-bit version of Windows is a 64-bit CPU, which the Athlon 64 is.
